Plot:

"In response to your arrogant and insolent four years of administration, I shall pass down God's punishment to you."

15 seconds before the subway explodes!
On a certain day in December, Governor Asakura, who was successfully reelected as the Tokyo Governor, receives a mysterious warning letter. The letter threatens to blow up the newly opened and municipally‐owned subway tunnel the next day! Fortunately, after Conan heard about the warning letter from Kogorou, he managed to prevent the explosion and there were no casualties.

The truth lies in the snow country
Was this a planned act of crime by someone who bears a grudge against Asakura? Among the people involved in building the dam at Niigata Prefecture when Asakura was still the Minister of Transport, is there anyone who bears a deep grudge against him? Since the culprit might set off a dire calamity at any time, Conan and the rest decided to visit Niigata Prefecture to track the culprit down.

The tragedy from 8 years ago
Kitano Sawamura gathers a huge crowd at the celebratory event for the 5th year anniversary of the dam's relocation. Is the culprit among the crowd?
Just as Conan is about to start his investigations, a body with an unknown cause of death is found in the snowfield! What does this have to do with the subway explosion incident? And what was the accident that left a deep scar in the hearts of the villagers 8 years ago?

As tragedies of past and present intertwine, an impending disaster is set to strike!

Detective Conan "Realization" pg5 [doujin]

Here's page 5 of my Detective Conan "Realization" doujinshi. Read previous pages here.

The line art is different now because I drew all the characters with SAI. First, I started with drawing the panels in Manga Studio and then added the background. This way I know where to place my characters. In SAI, I sketched and drew them and deleted the background layer where the characters are positioned. Back in Manga Studio, I added shadows and the speak bubbles. Then in Photoshop I added the text and SFX.

It's a very inconvenient order, but I'm still trying to figure out which techniques work best. (°~°')

Detective Conan "Realization" pg4 [doujin]

Here's page 4 of my doujinshi "Realization". ^^ I drew this mainly on Paint Tool SAI, added screentones on Manga Studio, and then added the text with Photoshop. Since I forgot to add the speak bubbles on Manga Studio, I belatedly did that on Photoshop. That's why it looks kinda comic-y and not manga-ish. Sucks! :/

Ayumi Yoshida and Ai Haibara

I always thought that Ai Haibara (or rather Shiho Miyano) kinda reminded me of Rei Ayanami from Neon Genesis Evangelion, I mean they almost have the same "robot-like" personality. I drew this based on this image, I only changed the uniform to the Teitan High School uniform.



So, I tried sketching it first on Paint Tool SAI. I swear to Gawd this was an awful procedure since SAI is a new program to me and it took me like hours to figure out the right setting for the brush or inking. I even tried coloring it, but I'm not yet that familiar with SAI, so I just proceeded to Manga Studio to add some values.

The canvas size is 3500px, so I used the ink pen size 9.0, stabilizer (S-5), Min Size 7% and just traced over the sketch. There should be a new layer over the sketch layer (make an individual one for the face [eyes, lips, brows]), but when I took this screenshot, this image had been drawn already. I only re-opened this a .png file, that's why there aren't other layers.



Yeah, I love Manga Studio, though I hate the ink tool. I always have the reference open to "copy" it. I'm a novice, don't judge me. (^_^')

Detective Conan pg3 "Realization" (doujin)

It's not much. I've left out the screentone unlike in the previous 2 pages. Will add them in "filler" pages only to save time. *shrugs* I haven't drawn anything since last December, lost motivation and inspiration, and I'm still waiting for newer episodes of Detective Conan, especially the ones with Ai Haibara. :)

Detective Conan "Realization" pg1+2 (Doujin)

I started drawing a new DC doujinshi the other day and now finished the first page. You can follow the progress on my deviantART gallery, though I will also post the pages here on my blog.

Story title: Realization
Summary: As the title suggests, the story is about Conan realizing his true feelings for Ai after he dreams about her. While in denial he tells himself that he's only 'worried' about her, and thus, has to be with her all the time.
Main pairing: Ai Haibara/Conan Edogawa (Shiho Miyano/Shinichi Kudo)

Merry Christmas 2010

Back again with another drawing.


This took me a total of 7 hours to draw (in 2 days) using Manga Studio EX 4 and Photoshop CS5. My MousePen is broken but I'm quite happy with the outcome. heehee I already ordered a new PenTablet, which should be here, I hope, by Monday or Tuesday.

The character is Ai Haibara from Detective Conan by Gosho Aoyama. I always draw them in chibi-style (Jap. "small child".)
