Azusa Nakano & Ai Haibara fanART

Detective Conan and K-ON! are my favorite anime, and these two are my favorite characters. So I thought, Hey why not draw them together? XD I'm trying to draw manga covers, so this was just for practice.

Christmas Dedication

I finally got to use my new PenTablet since my last one's mousepen broke (read in this post's bottom what happened), and it took me a little getting used to to its functions and sensitivity, but I think it worked out well. The first panel was drawn with my old broken mousepen, while the rest was done with my new tablet. I drew it using Manga Studio EX 4 and typeset it in PhotoShop CS5.

Merry Christmas 2010

Back again with another drawing.

This took me a total of 7 hours to draw (in 2 days) using Manga Studio EX 4 and Photoshop CS5. My MousePen is broken but I'm quite happy with the outcome. heehee I already ordered a new PenTablet, which should be here, I hope, by Monday or Tuesday.

The character is Ai Haibara from Detective Conan by Gosho Aoyama. I always draw them in chibi-style (Jap. "small child".)

1000 Twitter Followers

Yes, I am elated. I am ecstatic! I am overjoyed!

Because it's my first 1000! Finally. I thought I wouldn't be able to manage that before my 1st Twitter anniversary on Dec. 25. If I'd tweeted more often in the beginning, then maybe I'd reached this many a long time ago. But anyway... WTG. lol

Detective Conan (Doujin)

Long time, no post! I've been neglecting this blog lately because my other blog is being re-designed and it's taking really long to fix the layout.

Anyway, I was finally able to draw a 3-pages Detective Conan doujin. I tried a new program this time, Manga Studio EX 4. This is why the quality looks different than my other drawings. I'm still not familiar yet with all the tools and settings there.

I drew each page on different days, that's why the quality has slightly improved on the last one. I'm getting more familiar with the program, and more skilled at drawing (I think).

Visit my deviantART gallery.

(11/23/10: I tried using a new program (well, for me it's new), Manga Studio 4 EX, so I'm not familiar yet with all the tools and settings. The drawing is too basic, too.) Waah :o
(11/29/19: Working on different perspectives.)
(12/05-12/07/10: Experimenting with different tones and fonts.)

R.I.P My beloved MousePen,
I'll be bored without you!

I started drawing the cover when something really bad happened! I didn't realize that I was carrying my MousePen with me and carelessly placed it beside the stove while I was getting something to drink. Then I left it there and completely forgot about it. I thought, Hey, I'm hungry, why not fry some eggs? So I did. When I went back to my computer, I was looking for my MousePen. I always misplace that stupid thing, so I only searched around my desk, bed, etc.

I hurried quickly back to the stove, thinking, F*CK, I couldn't have left it there, SH*T! But unfortunately, it was lying right beside the hot pan, so I didn't notice it at once. The SHOCK of my life! It's the same crushing feeling like seeing your hamster being sucked in by the vacuum cleaner. The tip and the side where the scroll-button used to be were MELTED, and the pen was bent. I can't use it anymore.

So I Googled for a replacement of just the MousePen, but couldn't find one without having to buy the new set. I was planning to get a new PenTablet set anyway, one with a screen just like the WACOM Cintiq, but that one costs over €1000 (about $999). In my depression and sadness, I bought a Hanvon Rollick 0504 (see picture). I think I wasn't thinking clearly. But hey, I'm feeling better now. I'll have my new GraphicTablet in, hopefully, a few days, then I can draw again.
